I see from the BBC politics Twitter feed that there is a possibility that Mr Neil Hamilton might be granted expenses to fund a Welsh home. Money from the Welsh Government.

I find this utterly appalling. I know the members of The Assembly work very hard, and I am grateful for all you do for your constituents. However, Mr Hamilton's income as an AM is more than double mine as a teacher - ignoring his private income. He is more than able to afford an apartment or small house in Wales, especially as house prices in the region he represents are not high. If he truly wants to serve in Wales (rather than just using The Assembly for self-promotion and aggrandisement) then he should either pay for accommodation from his salary (like ordinary people have to) or sell the Wiltshire Mansion and move.

I am asking you, as my representative in The Assembly, to oppose this financial support for Mr Hamilton, or any AM.

I truly believe the majority of AMs stand because they want to serve the people if Wales. We are not a wealthy nation. Many of our children live in or near poverty.  It would be immoral for a man as rich as he is to be given public money for living expenses when it was entirely his choice to stand in Wales.
